About File Dumpling
File Dumpling is the private, cross-platform handoff tool for the devices and people that AirDrop cannot reach. Its rendezvous server introduces two peers and relays encrypted WebRTC negotiation messages; file bytes and chat stay on the peer-to-peer data channel. Pairing secrets live after the URL fragment or in the full one-time code and are never sent to the server.
Frequently asked
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. In a standard transfer, file bytes and chat move directly between the two devices. The server only helps them find each other.
Do I need an account?
No. Sending and receiving files is available without an account. Sign-in is optional for syncing a Dumpling Plus purchase.
What if the devices show different security symbols?
Stop the transfer. Matching symbols confirm both devices derived the same secret and that nobody altered the connection.
Why can a direct connection fail?
Some corporate and mobile networks block peer-to-peer traffic. Try another network or Dumpling Plus relay once relay service is enabled.
